The Clinical Research Education, Mentoring & Career Development Core organized the 2nd Annual Retreat on January 9th 2015. This year the retreat was planned around the theme 'Research Mentoring'. Dr. Christine Pfund from University of Wisconsin-Madison was invited as a guest speaker.

The LA CaTS Center is pleased to announce we are currently accepting Letters of Intent for the 2014-Round 3 Pilot Grants Competition, with a focus on junior faculty investigators. Please see the instructions regarding eligibility and LOI details. Further instructions on the full proposal will be released after the LOIs have been reviewed. SHREVEPORT, LA (KMSS) - Top research scientists from throughout Louisiana will have an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and mentor up-and-coming researchers at a unique collaborative event Wednesday on the health sciences campus of LSU Health Shreveport. The first-ever LA CaTS Day is an initiative of the Louisiana Clinical and Translational Science (LA CaTS) Center, which was created to harnesses innovation and expertise from Louisiana’s eight academic institutions. The goal is to facilitate research which could prevent chronic disease and improve healthcare in underserved populations in the state.
LSU Health Shreveport hosts top scientists from across Louisiana

Top research scientists from across Louisiana met at LSU Health Shreveport Wednesday to work on improving collaboration across their institutions. They're doing it with the help of LA CaTS, the Louisiana Clinical and Translational Science Center in Baton Rouge. It's funded by a five-year, $20 million grant from the National Institutes of Health. The aim is to promote more unified research. Dr. William Cefalu, executive director of Pennington Biomedical Research Center where LA CaTS is based, led the conference.
