LSU Health New Orleans welcomed U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy and NIH leaders on Friday, April 17, for a campus visit and roundtable discussion centered on strengthening clinical research, broadening access to care, and improving health outcomes across Louisiana. The visit featured a tour of newly renovated research laboratories in the LSU Health New Orleans Medical Education Building, representing a $112 million investment in healthcare research for the state. The day concluded with a collaborative discussion on the NIH’s All of Us and Nutrition for Precision Health programs, led in Louisiana by Dr. Lucio Miele, Director of the LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center and Director of the LA CaTS Biomedical Informatics Core.
