From October 6–9, Pennington Biomedical Research Center hosted the prestigious NIDDK
Clinical Methods for Nutrition and Obesity Research Course, welcoming early-career
scientists from 17 top institutions across North America. Sponsored by the National
Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, the intensive four-day program
offered hands-on training in advanced methodologies such as body composition analysis,
hyper-insulinemic clamp studies, metabolic chamber assessments, and exercise testing.
The course was led by nationally recognized experts from the Pennington-Louisiana NORC, including LA CaTS investigators Dr. Eric Ravussin, Dr. Jacob Mey, Dr. Ursula White, and Course Director Dr. Leanne Redman. Their leadership and mentorship were instrumental in equipping the next generation of researchers with the tools and guidance needed to elevate clinical and translational research in obesity, metabolism, and nutrition.
Congratulations to these LA CaTS investigators for their outstanding contributions to scientific education and training!
