Congratulations to LA CaTS Center Investigator Dr. Emily Harville (Tulane University, School of Public Health), for being selected to present at the 1st NIH Symposium on Women’s Health Research in IDeA States. The symposium was held on June 6, 2024, and highlighted program achievements by showcasing the research outcomes reported by IDeA states investigators who have been awarded Administrative Supplements. The meeting aimed to facilitate working, knowledge exchange, and recognition of the substantial contributions made to women’s health research within the IDeA States.
Women’s Health Research from Louisiana IDeA Programs were represented well. Dr. Harville presented the results of her project “Pregnancy Complications in the Strong Heart Study”, which was applauded for including multiple IDeA states in the study. There were two other presentations from projects under COBRE programs in Louisiana- Dr. Diana Cruz-Topete (LSU Health Shreveport) and Dr. Jennifer Sones (Pennington Biomedical Research Center /LSU COBRE).
