The Center for Clinical & Translational Science based at the University of Alabama at Birmingham will host the 2022 Community Engagement Institute Symposium, a virtual event seeking to collectively harness experience and perspectives surrounding complex topics next Friday, October 21st. This year’s theme addresses barriers to health equity and ways that communities can work together to build momentum toward sustainable change and features Keynote speaker, Ms. Sofia Gruskin, JD, MIA, Director of USC’s Institute on Inequalities in Global Health and Professor of Preventative Medicine and Law.
Notably, Dr. Candice Myers, PBRC faculty member and Forge AHEAD Scholar, will be discussing her project, entitled, “TARGETing Healthy Weight Loss in the Context of Food Insecurity Pilot and Feasibility Trial.”
