Dr. Leanne Redman, Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Women’s Health at Pennington Biomedical Research Center, was awarded a $2.9 million grant from NIH’s National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) to test a new program called “Healthy Beginnings” in partnership with the Louisiana Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program. Dr. Redman is a past LA CaTS scholar and pilot grant awardee. Dr. Redman utilized
LA CaTS Center resources, specifically involved the Baton Rouge Community Advisory
Board in the planning stages of her proposal to NIH.
